Investigating spatial sound experiences across real world and virtual environments.
Research List↘I study how sound can adapt to people, and space.
I am an M.S. student at the Graduate School of Culture Technology, KAIST, conducting research in immersive audio, spatial audio, and interactive sound. I am interested in how sound can adapt to listeners, their activities, and the spaces around them. My research spans adaptive in-cabin acoustics, the virtual reconstruction of cultural heritage through spatial audio, and personalized listening experiences in interactive environments. Across these contexts, I explore how audio systems can address different listening needs and how people perceive the resulting auditory environments—from the acoustic character of a vehicle interior to the sense of place recreated in a virtual environment.
My approach combines acoustic measurement, signal processing, and perceptual evaluation with hands-on audio implementation. Using multichannel systems and interactive audio technologies, I develop and evaluate sound experiences that connect technical design with the ways people actually listen.
